EXERCISES I DISLIKE

Mountain climbers. Ugh  
Pike ups. I could do them faster but.. eh
Jumping jacks. I’ll pass
Pike jumps. Definitely should be doing them faster...
Flutter kicks.. 
Sot ups. Especially unassisted 
Lunges. Great for the tush, but I hate them.
Push ups. Yes that’s right, I do a lot of them, but I hate them. Sorry @push.up.girl

BRAIN FOOD

So, this week I have had the amazing blessing to be apart of @libbywescombe 10 Day Athletic Body Challenge. I have been learning so much about pro metabolic foods and how to help my body lose fat by feeding it the right foods designed to support my hormone balance.

Our lesson today has really opened my mind quite literally. Did you know your brain uses glucose for energy? If you’ve eliminated carbs and sugars from your diet your brain has to rely on its back up of ketones. Ketones are only meant to supply the brain energy during metabolic stress. Therefore, the best way to support a healthy brain is to provide it glucose through natural carbs and sugars.

So don’t be afraid to eat up all those yummie fruits or roasted potatoes, their doing your body and brain some good

NUTRITION 
Nutrition is so incredibly important to overall health. Regardless of your goals, the way you eat should be a priority. Many times people over look their nutrition. You could go to the gym, run a million miles and sweat it out in the sauna every minute and still not get the results you’re looking for if your nutrition is off.

Quality food should be your top priority when choosing what you want to eat. The less ingredients in the food you eat, the better it is for your body. Avoid processed food, additives and excess junk. My favorite rule of thumb, if you can’t understand the ingredients, don’t eat it.

And then theirs water intake. To keep your body happy and balanced you must provide it with proper hydration. Drinking enough water is essential to everyday life. Even more essential to weight loss. My goal is 80oz every day.

Keep it simple. Your body will thank you.

ROPE CLIMB

So, few different ways to climb a rope.
1 way is using no feet, just straight climbing with hands. Something I haven’t mastered yet (you can see that in my last video) 🤣
Another way is what I like to call the S hook (first video). Stand with the rope on your dominant side and grasp the rope. When you jump up bring your feet as high up as you can while scooping the rope with your non dominant foot and pinching it between your feet by placing your dominant foot on top of your non dominant foot. The rope will create an “S” shape by running under your dominant foot and over your non dominant foot. To move higher, while pinching the rope between your feet, stand straight up. Reach as high as you can and pull your feet up toward you, releasing the rope and then pinching it back down again.
Another way, one I don’t typically use (you can tell in video 2 and 3)  is what some people call the J hook. Allow the rope to run on the inside of your dominant leg and wrap around the back to the outside of your leg and over the foot. The non dominant foot steps on the rope for stability. When you move up same rules apply but you have to keep wrapping your leg around every time.

Rope climbs are so much fun when you get the hang of them! Go out and be a badass today!

This is why I’ll never have abs 🤷‍️ Only slight changes in this before and after. The red bra is my before. The end of my 1,000 calorie deficit and 4days a week of cardio. I was grateful for that to end, but as you see in my after photo, I got pretty relaxed in my diet. 
Since May I changed to a maintenance calorie diet, I lift everyday and only run to and from the gym. I was only doing one work out a day too.

The white bra photo is now my before photo for my next challenge of a 500 calorie deficit, lifting 3 days a week and running 3 days a week, with 2 workout sessions a day, in preparation for my next PT test in October. #goingfor300

I am really proud to share this! This is the fastest I’ve ever ran my 2 mile in! I usually run faster on the treadmill (for obvious reasons) but this one was out on the road! 
Since joining the Army I always told myself “I’m not a runner.” “I could never get a 300 on my PT test.” “I could never run as fast as the boys.” Well I became a runner. I have set the goal to make 300 on my next PT test. This run, I passed a boy. Our new Soldier straight out of basic to be specific.

So, it may not seem like much to some, but for me, I see nothing but success in this picture.

I was the girl who thought I could never be good enough. Now I’m pushing those thoughts aside and killing it!  you can do it too!

LIFTING NEWBIE
I started lifting back in May. It was the first time in my life I’ve ever touched a barbell. I started off light, using just the bar and have progressed slowly in adding weight.

I’ve been wanting to record myself to check my form and make sure I’m not doing anything to injure myself as I add more weight. However, I realize I am a total amateur in the weight lifting realm. 
So, for all my awesome IG family out there that have mastered their deadlift I’d love to hear your tips!

My last video is something I discovered just playing around with kettle bells. I turn my feet out and use the kettle bell to deadlift. I can feel it in my saddlebag area of my legs, which has always been a problem area for me. If you have other suggestions to hit this area please share!

It’s hard work. It’s will power to say no to certain food. It’s consistency. It’s dedication. It’s self love.
