Black Panther 2 will officially hit theaters on May 6th, 2022. Marvel Studios had to leave some room for D23 after their explosive announcements at last month's San Diego Comic-Con and T'Challa was left out of the fun. However, that has all changed since Kevin Feige invited Ryan Coogler to the D23 stage to announce the highly anticipated sequel. No other announcements were made about the movie, but it is great to finally have a firm release date for one of the biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe projects ever.

It's official: Kit Harrington is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Reports recently surfaced that the Game of Thrones star had signed on for an unspecified role in the MCU. Marvel didn't make us wait too long to confirm those reports, as they revealed Harrington will be playing none other than Black Knight in The Eternals. They also confirmed that Captain Marvel and Crazy Rich Asians star Gemma Chan will be returning to the MCU in an entirely new role as Sersi.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker may be hiding a very unexpected twist. The footage shown at D23 today, which will be online this Monday, ended with Rey wearing a dark cloak while wielding a red double-bladed lightsaber like Darth Maul's from the prequel trilogy. The footage was introduced by J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and it sent the audience of 7,000 attendees into a frenzy, especially when the image of a possible Dark Side Rey showed up on screen.

Al Pacino's now legendary shouting to the crowd of Attica! Attica! was an improvisation. Pacino credits assistant director Burtt Harris with giving him the idea.

Although he had initially agreed to play the part of Sonny, Al Pacino told Sidney Lumet near the start of production that he couldn't play it. Pacino had just completed production on The Godfather: Part II (1974) and was physically exhausted and depressed after the shoot. With his reliance on the Method, Pacino didn't relish the thought of working himself up to a state of near hysteria every day. Lumet unhappily accepted the actor's decision and dispatched the script to Dustin Hoffman. Pacino changed his mind when he heard that his rival was being considered.

Halfway through the production, Al Pacino collapsed from exhaustion and had to be hospitalized for a short time. After production was completed, he decided to stop doing films for a while and return to stage work.

Ranking the MCU
No. 17- Ant-man and the Wasp

Some people might be surprised to see this ahead of Black Panther and I can understand that, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't like this movie more. Ant-man is fun and his sequel, while not great, still kept me entertained and has been elevated by what transpired in Avengers: Endgame.
-
Now, this movie does deserve criticism in an area of weakness all too common in MCU films, which is in the villain department. While I do think Ghost is interesting and well-acted, I can't help but be peeved at the film's underutilization of Walton Goggins. It's crazy how many great actors have played such forgettable villains in this universe and this is just another example.
-
Aside from this and some pacing issues, Ant-man and the Wasp has a lot to enjoy. The exploration of the Quantum Realm is fun and there's a lot of good action. Evangeline Lilly is fantastic and plays perfectly off of Paul Rudd. This movie also has one of the best post credits scenes in all of the MCU, so points for that.
-
Ant-man and the Wasp may not be the best Marvel has to offer, but I enjoyed it a great deal and like revisiting it here and there.

Movie Review Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (2019) 🧟‍️ After attending the behind the scenes panel at Comic Con, and having read the books as a child,I have been greatly looking forward to watching this movie. It was amazing to see the creepy black and white drawings come to life! The makeup and special effects were done incredibly well, and I appreciate any movie that uses practical special effects. The cast was very likable and hilarious. Like Guillermo Del Toro’s other films, this movie conveyed the message of how outsiders who are ostracized and bullied are treated by society as monsters, but the monsters are in fact the normal “bullies” themselves. This was shown through one Mexican American character experiencing racism in the small town, and another of a shy outcast who keeps to herself at school. For a movie that’s only PG-13, I found myself creeped out and on the edge of my seat during several scenes in the movie. I found this to be a PG-13 version of the film Trick R Treat, which is one of my favorite movies to watch during October. If I could change one aspect of the movie, it would be having more stories from the original books. I was not invested in the main storyline of the Sarah Bellows ghost. Overall, I would definitely recommend this movie for its Halloween storytelling, spooky monsters, and great soundtrack.

Overall: 8/10

Movie:- Edge of Tomorrow(2014)

Doug Liman has made another amazing movie in his career. Truly this movie deserves the 90% it recieved by Rotten Tomatoes. This is one of the best Fiction Thrillers one could ever watch. The story builds up slowly but becomes quite thrilling at the end. There is humor, love, happiness, sadness, anger and all other emotions mixed together to form a perfect blend of what we call a fantastic movie.

The best part of this movie is that through very easy concepts you can understand the movie. At first you might think that the story is boring and irrational but you have to wait for the plot twist.

“OUATIH (2019)” was on the top of my most anticipated movies list. I finally saw it at movies & wasn’t much impressed. The trailer is much better.
It’s fun to watch DiCaprio & Pitt together. But their bromance was kind of monotonous since I expected them to go on more adventures. DiCaprio is excellent in self-confrontation scenes but other than that his role is the safest. Compared to him, Pitt’s role is more challenging & fun. He also did his own stunts which is admirable. His character’s story is underdeveloped though. DiCaprio & Pitt were able to use their acting skills, but Robbie wasn’t. She’s more than just a blonde bimbo & an angelic face. She’s very talented Oscar nominated actress. If she was given more dialogues & opportunities as Sharon Tate, she would’ve slayed it. For me, Brandy the dog slays it all. No wonder she won an award at Cannes.
The film is too long as typical Tarantino films. But unlike his films, it’s 1st half is slow-paced & boring. It’s like an introduction phase to connect events & characters but it’s unnecessarily long. The 2nd half is where the actual movie & action start. Fortunately, the 2nd half is fast-paced & entertaining.
The narrative is sloppy & loose with short dialogues & blunt jokes. Tarantino probably must’ve thought what is the use of writing a script meticulously when the cast is incredible. Thus, he had to fill in blanks with his [dirty] foot fetishism. To make it even more “Tarantino-esque”, he included his trademarks: Western & WWII elements. He added hippies which was different to see. Just like expected, once again he wrote an alternative history. His version ain’t as dark & bloody as real history but it feels too light & soft for him. In spite of all flaws in narrative, his directing is remarkable as usual. The cinematography gives nostalgic feels. The film editing needs more work though.
The 9th film of Tarantino is one of the best movies of 2019 but it’s not his best movie to date. In other words, it’s a good film but it’s not a good Tarantino film. OUATIH is a love letter to Hollywood from Tarantino. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to write a love letter to OUATIH.

Movies 2019 - 238. Hail Satan? (2019; directed by Penny Lane)
.
 1/2 (3 1/2 tacos)
.
A look at the quick rise to national prominence of the religious group known as the Satanic Temple. Look: the things discussed in this documentary are controversial, to say the least. So much so, that any kind of praise of this film will no doubt alienate a good number of the people who read this page. However, the core of the film deals with religious equality. This isn’t a film about devil worship as I think many are led to believe by the title of the film and the religion at its center. Instead, it tackles the hypocrisy of how religious freedom is handled in various parts of the country. Where you stand on this film ultimately comes down to where you stand on the separation of church and state. Hail Satan is a fascinating look at an interesting group of people set on making people understand the laws they’ve made. At its core, this film features a group of people wanting to do good. However, because the method of delivery is like a necessary drug that’s capsule is covered in thorns, it can be a really rough pill to swallow. I liked this film and how it explored its subject matter, but with such a polarizing topic, it could be one of the most incendiary documentaries to be released this year.

Blinded by the Light = (5/5)
—
While it is definitely a feel good movie that represents such a delightful, sweet and relatable story, Blinded by the Light had a great balance of the its narrative so powerful together with its nostalgia that makes it one of my favorite films of the year. It had a lot of moments that will make you smile, the cast was amazing and the relationship of each character was convincing. This movie will make you remember those up and down moments as a teenager; being in the midst of the pressure, you have goals you want to reach so you have to take risks and believe in yourself. Just like in this movie, the main character Javed Khan, this is inspired from a true story by the way, had a messed up life experiencing the racial and economic turmoil of where he is living.. and besides that, he had a father that is traditional having different views, hence hates his decisions in life. With getting a healthy dose of Bruce Springsteen’s music, he was inspired by it and having him relate to every lyric of the song helped him finds his own voice and follow his dreams. This movie had a lot of heart in it, the ending made me tear up, this is one of those films you really need to see.

This is one of those comedies that I could watch over and over again. The comedic chemistry between Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton, and the rest of the talented cast, is great! This film skillfully navigates deep, depressing topics, while still keeping the tone of the movie lighthearted and fun. And can we talk about that dance scene? It’s a mood. Where is Jesse Pinkman?

Where is Jesse Pinkman?

Blended is another not typical Adam Sandler comedy that has a lot of heart and is not full of raunchy bathroom jokes. Reuniting with Drew Barrymore is great for Sandler, just like his collaborations with Jennifer Aniston, and it makes for a truly enjoyable romantic comedy which only has small but funny moments of Adam Sandler’s usual bathroom comedy. The film’s plot follows the usual romantic comedy beats, however I enjoy the emphasis on the children in the movie as it provides some different than normal laughs for romantic comedies. Sandler and Barrymore more have good chemistry, they come off like old frenemies and when they do start developing feelings for each other, it plays well. The film also has a great supporting cast including Joel McHale, Bella Thorne, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Terry Crews and Kevin Nealon who all deliver some great laughs when they have the spotlight. The movie is full of great laughs based off the concept of blended families, but for any Sandler fans there are his usual jokes too which are a good balance to the humour in the film. Then there is also Terry Crew and his choir of singing men that pop up at the most opportune moments to serenade and deliver some great laughs. It’s really a silly film, but if you enjoy romantic comedies and are not looking for one of the best films ever made, its pretty safe to say that you will get a good laugh out of Blended as I have the numerous times I’ve seen this movie. Blended is just plain fun, and thanks to Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore’s lead performances, it’s a fun film that will almost certainty have you laughing. 7/10 #Blended #AdamSandler #DrewBarrymore #BellaThorne #JoelMcHale #WendiMcLendonCovey #KevinNealon #TerryCrews #moviereview #cinephile #filmreview #cinephilecommunity #filmcommunity #filmfamily #moviecritic

Blended is another not typical Adam Sandler comedy that has a lot of heart and is not full of raunchy bathroom jokes. Reuniting with Drew Barrymore is great for Sandler, just like his collaborations with Jennifer Aniston, and it makes for a truly enj

- 500 Days of Summer
- Zombieland

10 years ago we got a series of great movies. Starting off the list is a film I consider one of the greatest movies ever made. It’s called Inglorious Basterds and it’s by a guy named Quentin Tarantino. There are many people that think this is his greatest work to date and I don’t blame them. There is so much to say. The opening scene, the insane ending, the final line (which sums up the movie entirely), and the script is just a few things to point out from this masterpiece. Now, Avatar is one that I honestly don’t care to talk about but one I think is worth mentioning because of the technicalities. This was such a hard film to make and you can tell. It takes place in box office history as a monumental feat in history but nothing else to say other than how it looks. The next two entrys are two of the greatest animated films I've seen. Fantastic Mr. Fox is a stop motion Wes Anderson film that is visually stunning, has amazing voice acting by an incredible ensamble, full of humor, and is the most Wes Anderson film Wes Anderson has made if that makes any sense. Easily one of my favorites. Next is Up, a movie that Pixar pulled all of our heart strings with. A brilliant film from start to finish and a remarkable love story that I feel like would hit differently when I watch it with a wife and children one day. Next is a movie that I saw once and ended up enjoying which is Moon. A film carried by an awesome performance by Sam Rockwell, a cool concept, and the poster for Moon is insane. Then there’s an underrated superhero flick by Zack Snyder, Watchmen. His direction is something special. The opening credits, the pacing, the visuals, and the dark story telling makes Watchmen a delightful watch that I recommend. Now here’s the thing. I saw this movie at a very specific point in my life that effected me heavily so this is honestly one of my favorite movies to come out in the ‘00s. 500 Days of Summer is one of the best rom-coms I have seen and speaks the truth about heartbreak and how one deals with so.

What a cool movie! I enjoyed it a lot more than Homecoming, I'd say. Tom Holland's version of the super hero is super relatable and adorkable. I enjoyed watching school Peter's problems and watching him trying to balance both of his worlds was fantastic.

Now can we PLEASE talk about Mr. Gyllenhaal? Mysterio was gREAT and so much fun. I can write a whole essay on Mysterio's epicness but I'll just leave it there lol.

Frozen 2 will take the cast of characters into an enchanted forest where fall has begun and everything is sure to change. The trees do have symbols that could represent fall leaves or something more mysterious. The poster once again doesn’t reveal too much of the narrative but, the adventure awaits soon enough.

Although Replicants are supposed to be androids pretending to be human beings, Replicants' bodies are never seen from the inside, so no inner mechanisms and circuits are ever shown.
.
The only clue about their artificiality can be seen when Batty and Kowalski meet Chew in the shop where artificial eyes for Replicants are created. Since these eyes look organic rather than mechanical, and because Replicants seem to have reddish blood, it has therefore been proposed that the Replicants consist (largely) of artificially created organic material, rather than inorganic or mechanical components, like most robots depicted in film. This would make sense in the context of the film, because if Replicants consisted of inorganic material, they could probably be identified by simple body scans rather than emotional responses.
.
The sequel Blade Runner 2049 (2017) lends more credibility to this theory, as it is revealed that Replicant bones show no microscopic differences from human ones except from serial numbers embedded in them.
.
Ridley Scott is pretty confident that Blade Runner was the first of its kind stating that he looked at all the other urban-set sci-fi films and they just weren't very good. They either suffered from a lack of budget or a lack of imagination or a lack of reality.

Ridley Scott scoffed at attempts to shoehorn the film into a metaphor for ideas like apartheid. It's silly. This is science fiction. This is a futuristic fiction which could be possible.
.
At the end of the movie Roy Batty is making wolf howls when he chases Deckard at Bradbury's Building. Three years later Rutger Hauer starred in Ladyhawke (1985) as Navarre, a man who becomes a wolf.
.
Originally, Batty was to have a lengthy monologue just prior to his death, as written by David Webb Peoples. Rutger Hauer felt the text was much too technical, and referred to locations the audience would be unfamiliar with.
.
This didn't help in creating any dramatic impact in the scene, so he removed much, keeping the pieces he liked, and then added the last two lines, All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die...

Director Ridley Scott and actor Harrison Ford had disagreements about the script almost from the very start.
.
Ford hated the voiceover which were in early script versions, suggesting that it was better to show most of the things that the voiceover was explaining, in order to give Deckard some actual detective work to do.
.
Ford also found working with Scott quite frustrating; having recently worked with Steven Spielberg and Francis Ford Coppola, Ford was used to directors giving him valuable input about his character, whereas Scott was primarily concerned with the sets and pictures (Scott maintained that Ford was a professional actor who didn't need his input).
.
Lastly, Ford was against the idea that Deckard may be a replicant, feeling it undercut the human story of Deckard discovering his lost humanity (Rutger Hauer agreed completely with Ford on this point).
.
According to Ford, Ridley Scott and he agreed prior to shooting that Deckard was not a replicant, but then Scott went and shot it to imply he could be, which disappointed both Ford and Hauer.

News Reelz: One person is remaining positive about the recent Sony-Marvel divorce that potentially has Spider-Man out of the MCU & that person is Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland.
.
.
Holland stopped by @people and @entertainmentweekly studio backstage at Disney’s D23, where he addressed the news that Disney has no new plans to include Spider-Man in future MCU films.
.
.
Basically, we’ve made five great movies. It’s been five amazing years. I’ve had the time of my life. Who knows what the future holds? But all I know is that I’m going to continue playing Spider-Man and having the time of my life. It’s going to be so fun, however we choose to do it. The future for Spider-Man will be different, but it will be equally as awesome and amazing, and we’ll find new ways to make it even cooler.”
.
.
Perhaps fans can adopt his cheery optimism despite how they feel about the split. Earlier this week, news broke that Disney would be ending its partnership with Sony Pictures on the Spider-Man franchise, thanks to a disagreement over co-financing. Sony owns the film rights to the iconic superhero, and several years ago, the studios struck a deal: Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige would help produce Sony’s solo Spider-Man films, allowing Holland’s Spidey to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning with 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. .
.
After the release of this summer’s Spider-Man: Far From Home (which has now become Sony’s highest-grossing film of all time with $1.11 billion worldwide), Disney reportedly asked to share co-financing on future Spider-Man solo films, while Sony wanted the financing arrangement to remain the same as it had been. Unless a deal can be reached, Holland will not appear in any future MCU movies (and no MCU characters will appear in Holland’s solo films).
.
.
Hoping for the best here! Did Holland address this appropriately? Sound off!

Although Philip K. Dick saw only the opening 20 minutes of footage prior to his death on March 2, 1982, he was extremely impressed, and has been quoted by Paul Sammon as saying, It was my own interior world. They caught it perfectly.
.
However neither Ridley Scott nor screenwriter David Webb Peoples actually read Dick's novel.

Syd Mead was originally hired to design vehicles and props. However, in his sketches, he would include backgrounds for contextualization (such as streets and Deckard's apartment).
.
Ridley Scott was so impressed with Mead's work that he asked him to work on designing the environment of the film, as well as painting some of the mattes.
.
Mead, who was originally supposed to be hired for only a few days, stayed on the production for several weeks for a fee of 1500 dollars per day. This was one of the factors that caused the film to go over budget.

Ridley Scott and Jordan Cronenweth achieved the famous 'shining eyes' effect by using a technique invented by 'Fritz Lang' known as the 'Schüfftan Process'; light is bounced into the actors' eyes off a piece of half mirrored glass mounted at a forty five degree angle to the camera.
.
The Voight-Kampff Test comes from Cambridge Mathematician Alan Turing's 1951 paper in which he proposed a test called The Imitation Game that might finally settle the issue of machine intelligence. His story was told many years later in a movie with the same title.
.
The novel hints at the Is Deckard a Replicant? problem by having Deckard casually mention that one indicator of an android is a lack of sympathy for other androids. His interlocutor then points out that, given his job, this means that Deckard could be one too.

At first, Ridley Scott's original cut, without the voice-over, among other things, was thought to be non-existent. It was in 1989 that Michael Arick, a sound preservationist and director of assent management at Warner Bros., stumbled upon a 70mm print of the film while looking for footage from Gypsy (1962).
.
Several months later, the Cineplex Odeon Fairfax theater was having a classic-film festival featuring 70mm prints. The print discovered by Arick was set to be screened in May. However, no one had actually watched the print and everyone thought it was the International Cut, leading to a great deal of surprise when people discovered it was another version entirely.
.
More screenings of this version resulted in sell outs, and Warner proposed releasing it as a Director's Cut. Ridley Scott however said it was not a Director's Cut, and said that a number of changes would need to be made for him to approve it.
.
Ultimately, Scott and Arick were not given enough time to complete the project to Scott's satisfaction, and the resulting Director's Cut was still not Scott's preferred version of the film.
.
In 2007, Scott was finally able to release what he considered to be the definitive cut of the film, which is labeled The Final Cut.
